Great place with great people! I always thought crossfit was for macho, bodybuilding white men. This place provides a great environment for people of all fitness levels, ages and genders. Coaches are super supportive and have helped me gain strength and stay motivated. Great place to work out.

Long overdue review, where do I being?! I first discovered crossfit, when I was driving down Hume Way, on my way picking up son from a friend house. I looked over to the right of me, I saw people outside the gym, running, flipping the tire, and using a sledgehammer slamming it on the tire… That got me thinking (I should stop by before work and get myself signed in ASPA!)

When I stopped by to sign up, I wasn’t a member YET…boy….let me tell you! I walked in, everyone greeted me! Everyone said (Hi!!!) I felt very welcomed! Like was a member of their community… I was greeted by coach Jerry, he got me signed up, you have week to try out crossfit…

I was a member for a good 6 to 7 months or almost a year! I think…..this place became my second home and family! I remember my first day and my wod…I thought I was going to die!  And I remembered Andy saying if your going throw up, it better not be on my carpet… You better run outside…(but you’ll get a free t-shirt) lol yes! Andy was my coach on my first day! (Thee owner) he took his time explaining everything to me, from safety, stretching before and after a workout and also how to use the equipments…

After my second week, man…..I was hooked! My experience here I will never forget! Coaches! The owners (Andy and Marcia)! Fellow workout buddies! I’ve met a lot wonderful people here!!! Our bond that we share! To get us through a wod!!! Only crossfitter will understand! In the middle of the wod, if the coach see you struggling he/she will encourage you to finish! Not only the coaches will, but your fellow workout buddies! Everyone cheers you on! If you’re the last one to finish, your fellow workout buddy or buddies and coaches will finish with you! Not only they encourage you at the gym, the coaches will send you post cards! Words of encouragement! This is why I kept coming back!

The owners and coaches will take their time to explain a wod or a movement! And if they see that you doing a movement wrong they will correct you in the middle of a wod….and they will stand next to you, to show you how to do a movement! Until you get it right!!

I only left because of the military! So if ever come back to Vacaville, California! my go to place!!!! I will be back!!!!

Not a gym, but a community or even better, a family.

One Saturday morning (August 2014) my wife woke me up, and told me that WE were starting CrossFit.  I did what any good (sane) husband would do…I went.

I am now writing today, 7 months later still having fun everyday.  Why you ask…
Well, the challenge.  I’ve always been able to run, do pushups, sit-ups, and MAKE IT through a workout.  Since I’ve started I’ve been challenged to not just make a work out, but to OWN a workout.  Andy, Marcia, and their staff have challenged me to no end.

The trainers; Andy, Marcia, Tito, Jamie, Tiffany, Katie, Chris, Sonny, and Joe (sorry if I’m forgetting anybody) ensure your safety, and form are correct.  What does that mean?  It means check your ego at the door, and get ready to work, but have fun doing it.

It’s a family because there are people like you and I constantly encouraging each other.  There are no “meat heads,” just everyday people setting personal goals for themselves.  The workout too hard?  Well everything is tailored to what you CAN do.

Long story short.  If you want to try something CHALLENGING, FUN, and outside you comfort zone, then stop by.  Try the week long introduction to CrossFit, and become hooked like me.

I’ve use to tease my friends that went to Crossfit about the kool-aid. What can I say, 3 months later I now a kool-aid kid!  I tried Vacaville Crossfit as my old routines were no longer working for me and age has a cruel way of letting you know. When I started it was completely out of my element and comfort zone. The trainers are so amazing to work with, they are patient, emphatic but also know exactly when and how to push. Owners Andy and Marcia have built a great culture that I enjoy participating in. All of the coaches I’ve worked with have been great and a special shout out to coach Jamie.
Everyday I get a little stronger & healthier. Becoming a member of Vacaville Crossfit has changed a lot of my lifestyle for the better   My only regret is not taking measurements when I started but in the other hand, I can feel and see the difference.

  • I started CrossFit Vacaville because I knew I needed to do something to get rid of my gut! In addition, my daughter and son-in law were both avid fans of CrossFit Vacaville & my wife, Sandy had just finished her first week so it just made sense that I try it out too. I have never done a workout in a gym that was anything like CrossFit before. My motivation was to show up everyday. katpic I thought CrossFit was only for athletes and not for regular folks like myself, but boy was I wrong! I now know that CrossFit Vacaville can be for anyone with a goal of bettering himself or herself and can do so with confidence that the coaches at CrossFit Vacaville will provide motivation, support, and show you proper technique to avoid injury. I really love coming to a place (like Cheers) and I love that everyone knows who I am and even the funny nicknames my family has adopted. I also love that the coaches are now my friends and are in my corner, ready to help me reach my goals & celebrate when I do, that’s the the best!! My goals have changed from just showing up to now, relying on the coaches’ talent to help me excel & kill it when possible!! I recently lost 20lbs (208 to 188) & lowered my body fat from nearly 29 to 23.5 in approximately 75 days. This would not be possible without my wife, Sandy’s support of the no sugar & flour diet that nutritional coach Tiffani & Marcia have assigned to me. With their help guiding my nutrition and the coaches guiding me on the workouts, I feel much better than I have in years and at 61 years old, that’s saying something! In the future at CrossFit Vacaville, I hope to lose another 10lbs, be able to run a 5k & start training to gain upper body strength & mass. In addition, I have never had a six-pack & would like to try before I get too old! Thanks for all your support!!!

  • It has been 5 years since my husband and I first decided to try Crossfit Vacaville as our “date night”. I will be honest, we were both very nervous, and didn’t know what to expect from this experience. Wow, we made it through the first WOD feeling exhausted yet very accomplished. My husband loved it and continued following Crossfit Vacaville during their growth and expansion. When we found out I was pregnant with our son Cameron who is now 4, so I took some time off. Then in February 2014, I was driving to work one day and decided a few things: I needed a challenge, I wanted to work out with my husband, and I wanted to work towards that toned body that I have always dreamed of. I was tired of going to the “regular” gyms where you were only a number when you check in and spend numerous hours doing the same workouts day in and day out and not seeing any results. I called my husband to tell him my new goals and he was ecstatic. Crossfit Vacaville here I come! I walked through that door and the look on Andy and Marcia’s face was priceless. They had been trying to get me back in their doors for quite some time, knowing that I would love it and feel extremely successful. My goal was, every woman’s goal, to lose weight as fast as I could. My favorite part about this was that Justin and I were working out together, bringing us closer than ever, connecting through hard work, sweat and sharing fitness goals and successes. Having a healthy body and mind improves the health of your relationship as well as shows our two beautiful children the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months- we are still going strong, going on 6 months straight 4-5 days a week. We have both lost pounds and inches, gained muscle and have both become that much stronger and toned person we have always wanted to be! I have been told that we have officially “drank the Kool-Aid!”

  • I started CrossFit Vacaville around mid-November 2014.     CrossFit Vacaville did not let medown. The coaches truly careabout your health. Every time Igo in I’m greeted by name, andthey also notice when I don’tcome in for a few days, and I getchided on that. They hold youaccountable and that, in itself, isa large portion of the motivation.I’ve never been so sore and I’venever sweat so much, but I havenever seen results like this insuch a short amount of time. Alittle over two months ago I wasa 160lb binge eating, chainsmoker. I’ve lost 20 pounds. I’mstarting to see muscle show. I haven’t touched a cigarette since Istarted CrossFit, since the WODs definitely require my full lungcapacity. I’ve gotten over my sugar addiction and for once eatinghealthy doesn’t feel like dieting. I’m 21 and for once I actually feel likeI’m in my prime.

  • My husband and I have been members of Crossfit Vacaville for 10 months. The results have been fabulous and the sense of community at this location is awesome. Personally in January 2011 my dress size was an 18 and I was overweight. My physical activity was picking up my 2.5 year old and walking. Within six months of joining Crossfit my dress size was down to a 10, I was 20 lbs lighter and running a 5K. The program here is great and the trainers are personable, helpful and genuinely interested in your fitness goals. We average about 4-5 times per week and definitely drank the kool aide. I'm confident that I can get to my next goal of a size 8 and continue to work on fitness goals. I encourage you to get off the couch, come in to check it out and see for yourself if Crossfit is for you.   • I never wanted to become "one of those guys" that had drank the Crossfit Kool-Aid.  I always heard that the participants were too intense and that the workouts were not good for your body.  A couple years ago I noticed that one of my buddies was starting to lose weight and I commented that he looked good and I wanted to know what he was doing.  He said he was doing Crossfit and loved it.  Then another friend of mine joined and was showing similar results.  I thought, if they can do it, I can do it.  Crossfit Vacaville was recommended to me by five different people.  That impressed me that so many people I knew would recommend the same place. In August of 2013 I showed up for my first week: the "newbie" week.  The "newbie" week is where you come in for five days that week and each day is setup with different exercises and skills that you learn and it involves a newbie WOD (Workout Of the Day) at the end of your appointment that sets the tone of your fitness and abilities so that the coaches, and yourself, can see where you are physically (form and fitness).  I was hooked after week one.  As I lay on the floor gasping for breath I thought, "Now I see why people enjoy this so much."  For me, I love exercise.  Not routine workouts at a gym.  I like working out outside (biking and running and sports).  I love constant movement.  I can't stand treadmills and I hate laying on a bench pushing up iron.  I hate going to gyms where it feels like people are there just to show off their bodies or stare in a mirror all day.  I hate paying a monthly due to a gym that I don't go to anymore because it gets routine and boring.  At Crossfit Vacaville, there are no show-offs, no treadmills, no "routines" and no mirrors!  The only routine I have is my warm-up movements and stretches.  Every WOD is different and 90% of them kick my butt.  The ones that don't kick my butt are usually the ones that I use too light of weight or because I was being lazy that day (laziness happens at 5am). I also like the community you join once you start going.  I go Monday-Friday at 5am and there's usually about 15-20 people there at that time.  It feels like everyone knows everyone and I felt accepted right away.  We all encourage each other during the WOD's, and congratulate each other afterward (if we can lift our arms for the standard congratulatory fist-bump).  Some will join your workout after they finish theirs just to help motivate you and encourage you to finish strong.  Some will just stand by you and be your cheerleader.  Sometimes, from the other side of the gym you can hear "good job man, keep it up". The coaches are also very awesome.  They are all very mindful of your abilities and form.  Even this morning I had a coach stand by me during my WOD and help me with my form on some deadlifts.  They keep an eye on your form and technique and will always give you a hand if you want/need help.  They are patient (which is nice for me), encouraging, and will push you to finish, but not to the point of incorrect form or injury.  At a standard gym there are no coaches by your side all the time (unless you pay extra).  In the mornings, at the time I go, there is about a 1:5 coach: member ratio.  And if you have an injury, or you can't do a certain skill involved in the WOD, they will help you with alternative exercises/movements that you can do and show you different stretches. Since going I have lost 5 lbs. (that's with a crappy diet too).  And I can say that I know I've only "lost" 5 lbs. because I've gained back some of what I lost in muscle mass.  I can actually feel my abs now.  My endurance has picked up.  My speed and intensity has improved.  I really notice a difference in my mountain biking; I can last longer and do more sprinting without being so winded.  I am doing workouts I never thought possible, and enjoying them. The price is a little steep honestly, but I haven't compared it to other Crossfit affiliated places, just standard gyms.  But when I think about how much my body health has improved, the coaches, the ever-changing WOD's, and the community you join I think it's totally worth it!  Compared to boring routine workouts at a gym and personal trainers that cost extra... well, I'll take Crossfit Vacaville anytime. Also, there are no mirrors, no TV's and no potty mouths.  I have not heard any coach or member talk bad about anyone else and that's a plus for me.  Did I mention the postcards I get in the mail from the coaches each time I reach a milestone?  I keep thinking of all the pros to this place as I write this and I need to stop because pretty soon this will be a book. You need to check Crossfit Vacaville out.  You will not be disappointed, I guarantee it.  There are all sizes and shapes and fitness levels there, you will fit in no matter your abilities.  If you're tired of routine and lack of encouragement, stop by Crossfit Vacaville and you'll never have that feeling again.

  • I was a little apprehensive about Crossfit at first, I had heard mixed reviews about the exercises, and had evern heard that they were damaging to your body. I decided to go to CVV and give it a try since they offer a free first session, and a 1 week introductory course for $50. I have been working out my entire adult life, and I thought I was in pretty decent shape... Apparently I was not. Day 1 of the newbie workout kicked my butt, and so did day 2, day 3, and so on and so on. I've been going here for about 1 1/2 months now, and I'm still getting my butt kicked every day. This is by far the best, and most intense workout i've ever had, and the results have been amazing. I am so much stronger, and have so much more endurance than I had even 1 month ago. I'm getting leaner, building muscle, and doing it all in a very challenging, but fun way. I have never looked forward to going to the gym, but I do now. The coaches are great, always willing to help and encourage you, as are all the people there doing the workouts. The atmosphere makes crossfit what it is. I AM HOOKED! I definitely would reccomend CVV to anyone looking to get in shape, and change their lifestyle.

  • I've been going here for about 8 months and have had great improvements in my physical health.  They have some excellent trainers here and I get great personal attention I need.  There is a great feeling of community and folks wanting to help each other out. The gym consistently exceeds my expectation.

  • I love this crossfit. I was a 24 hour gym member before joining crossfit. I was getting bored with it and knew I had to change it. I had been interested in crossfit for months before stepping into one. I was so intimidated by what I saw on Youtube, but it wasn't that bad. The trainers tailored the workouts for me so I wasn't stuck doing something I couldn't do. I went to Vallejo crossfit and it just wasn't as good as this one. Andy is the owner and he's great. Everyone is very encouraging and tries to push you to do better and beyond what you think you could do... I love it.  I honestly thought I would only come twice a week because of the intensity of workouts but I've been coming here at least five times a week! I really enjoy coming here. If you're unsure about joining crossfit check this one! You won't regret it!

  • Crossfit  Vacaville  was recommended to me by a friend. At the time I belonged toGolds gym, I lifted weights and did cardio. That's what the average person does at a gym, right? Well after my first day at CFVV I was hooked, I've been there for over 3 years now. If you are dedicated to changing your life and willing to learn and work hard you will get all that you dreamed of. The trainers are great and motivating. The workouts are always different thanks to Kelsy who programs the workouts always varied. Andy is always motivating and supportive, they all are a level above what you would expect. I'll be there until I'm 80 and will be in the best shape of any 80 y/o in town. Bottom line, if you you want change this is the place to do it. You just have to do it.
